Earlier posted on Chinext index here https://www.investsg.asia/posts/2860052 that price is showing a bullish reversal. Index was around 2377.
In less than one month, chinext is trading 2762.
Today this piece of news caught my attention: https://ttmgoal.com/news/1171421057?editio...
Extract:
Notably, the combined trading volume of Shanghai, Shenzhen, and Beijing exchanges surpassed 3 trillion yuan, marking the first time since October 8 last year and only the second occurrence in A-share history, representing an increase of nearly 600 billion yuan from the previous trading session.
Market analysts attribute today's strong performance to three major positive factors: 1) The central bank's market liquidity support through a 600 billion yuan Medium-term Lending Facility (MLF) operation; 2) Capital inflows, with Goldman Sachs reporting that hedge funds net purchased Chinese stocks at the fastest pace in seven weeks as the Shanghai Composite continues hitting decade highs; 3) External factors including Fed Chairman Powell's dovish stance emphasizing employment risks and opening the door for rate cuts, leading to significant U.S. stock gains on Friday.
In my portfolio, I had established a small position in $AmovaEFund ChiNext S$(CXT.SI)
Posted earlier on $LION-PHILLIP S-REIT(CLR.SI) https://www.investsg.asia/posts/2859646 highlight on the base and 0.85 as resistance.
With a more firm rate cut in Sep, plus an inverted head/shouder which is a bullish reversal pattern, BUT most importantly, price is very well supported by TAD blue continuation zone, will be adding more to my portfolio.

*Nvidia and Fed drama in spotlight*
The S&P 500 hit another record close last night All eyes were on Nvidia. While Q2 results beats expectations and offering strong guidance, investors couldn’t ignore the China-shaped cloud hanging over future chip sales. It fell 3% in after hours.
Meanwhile, the Fed found itself in the political spotlight. Trump is pushing to oust Governor Lisa Cook on fraud allegations, which she flatly denies and is ready to fight in court. With her term running through 2038, this could drag on. The bigger worry for markets isn’t courtroom drama, though, it’s whether political meddling erodes the Fed’s independence at a time when calls for rate cuts are already loud.
Elsewhere, energy stocks joined the party as oil prices firmed up. A surprise 2.4 million barrel draw in US crude inventories (versus 1.7 million expected) gave the sector a lift, pushing names like Huntington Ingalls, Johnson Controls and Carrier Global higher.
*What’s brewing today!*
I might have probably got too ahead of myself for this stock, but I think it is starting to bottom out. *ST Engg* has slid down from its ATH of $8.97 for more than 2 weeks now. It hit the support line of $7.66 and had now been consolidating for 2 days now (including yesterday). Probably may need 1-2 days more of consolidation to form a stronger support, but I think we can probably start putting it back into our watchlist. Going forward, I think the possibility of a V-shaped rebound is less likely, but I think it is in the process of bottoming out.
*Capitaland Investment* may be in the spotlight today. China REIT to list by end of year; to raise $375 million issuing 400 million units
Look out for *BH Global* today as well. It announced it will undertake a two-step internal restructuring involving share swaps with Mr George Lee to prepare for a potential spin-off listing, while maintaining their respective 80% and 20% effective interests in SFTS without material financial impact.

*Fed Up or Just Fed Drama?*
Wall Street managed to shake off political drama last night. The S&P 500 edged higher, powered by health care and tech, even as Trump’s latest swipe at the Fed had investors side-eyeing central bank independence. He abruptly fired Fed Governor Lisa Cook, citing fraud allegations she denies and vows to fight in court. The move added fresh uncertainty around whether the Fed can stay above politics.
On the data front, it was a mixed bag but with enough green shoots to keep spirits up. Business spending looked perky, with core capital goods orders bouncing nicely, though headline durable goods got dragged down by a slump in aircraft bookings. Consumer confidence dipped a touch but not as much as feared. Bottom line, the economy is still chugging along, and markets are leaning into rate-cut hopes for September.
All eyes now turn to Nvidia. The chipmaker drops earnings tonight, and given its AI halo, the numbers could move the entire market. Expectations are sky-high, with Wall Street bracing for a nearly 50% profit surge. Meanwhile, Apple circled September 17 for its iPhone 17 reveal, just to keep things interesting.
*What’s brewing today!*
Gotta admit, I am late to the game. Totally missed out on this stock movement. *Hong Leong Asia* had risen from a low of $1.70 to hit a 14-year high of $2.62 yesterday. Had also missed out on the surge in recent months. Yesterday, its subsidiary, China Yuchai International, announced that one of its indirect subsidiaries is considering a potential listing on a foreign stock exchange. Not sure if that is the main reason, but I believe it should have contributed to the surge in part, at least. Not a buy call as the price seems to be very high. Just fyi, in case there are any buy-on-dip opportunities.
Yesterday, *Thomson Medical* surged after announcing its RM18B development in Johor Bay. Actually back in May, it was revealed 2 listed companies had expressed interest in Iskandar development (mentioned in my dailys). The other company is *Centurion* which was up yesterday as well to close near its high. Probably something to keep an eye on.
I know *Great Eastern* has been in the spotlight recently. Do note that it is going XD today for 25 cents. *Genting Sing* is also going XD for 2c. Vested shareholders may want to note.

*After-hours movers:*
— *MongoDB* surged 28% following blowout quarterly results and guidance. Total revenue was $591.4 million for the second quarter of fiscal 2026, an increase of 24% year-over-year.
— *Okta* initially gained 4% after beating estimates. Okta reported Q2 EPS of $0.91, $0.07 better than the analyst estimate of $0.84. Revenue for the quarter came in at $728 million versus the consensus estimate of $711.19 million

*SG Stocks news*
— *Keppel* has filed an arbitration claim against *Seatrium* over liabilities related to Operation Car Wash
— *Wing Tai Holdings* reported a narrower net loss of S$61.0M in FY2025 compared to S$78.7M in FY2024, as higher revenue from development properties was offset by lower operating profit, high finance costs, and continued losses from associated and joint venture companies.
— *Avi-Tech* posted FY2025 revenue of $21.6M and profit before tax of $0.9M, maintained profitability despite weak demand, upheld a strong cash position of $37.5M, proposed a 0.25 cent dividend, and streamlined operations to enhance efficiency.
— *CFM* expects to record a loss after tax for FY2025 as compared to the net profit after tax for FY2024, mainly due to significant lower revenue from the metal stamping, components and parts, and cleanroom segments, which resulted from customers overstocking in the previous financial period, end-of-life cycle products and the maturation of customer contracts.
— *Pasture Holdings* posted FY2025 revenue of US$12.2M and net profit of US$0.5M, down from the previous year but still profitable.

Technical Analysis: United Hampshire US REIT
The chart for $UtdHampshReitUSD(ODBU.SI) (denominated in USD) shows a multi-year symmetrical triangle formation spanning from early 2022 through August 2025. This pattern is characterized by converging trendlines: a descending upper resistance line and an ascending lower support line, both evident from the major high and low points on the chart.
Key Observations
Conclusion
A technical breakout is underway, suggesting the potential for further gains if sustained. However, confirmation is needed through continued price action and volume before establishing a long-term bullish bias. Downside risk remains if the breakout fails and the price slips back below the support line.
